Who We Are

Our church, established in 1885, owes its foundation to the Carol, Daniel, Durden, Mapp, and Moore families. The inaugural pastor, Reverend A.D. Freeman, undertook the significant responsibility of leading the congregation. The choice of the name "FAIRFIELD" stemmed from the remarkably fair field surrounding the initial church site.

Today, Fairfield stands as a radiant beacon in the community, illuminating the love of Christ. Positioned like a church on a hill, it serves as an unhidden source of light, sharing the transformative message of faith.

Your First Sunday

  • Before you come. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early. It gives you time to park, settle in, and breathe.
  • When you pull in. Our Parking Ministry will wave you to a spot, including our parking deck. If walking is hard, just ask, and a golf cart will carry you to the door.
  • When you walk in. Greeters will meet you at the main entrance or the side. We are currently worshipping in  the Micheal Benton Family Life Center while our Sanctuary is being renovated.  Stop by our Welcome Center in the main lobby and we'll answer questions, help with your children, and say hello.
  • When worship begins. Service opens with a musical prelude. During this time, anyone who wishes may come kneel at the altar for quiet, personal prayer. It's never required, but you're always welcome. From there you'll hear music that blends hymns, gospel, and contemporary worship, followed by a Bible-centered message from Pastor Vickers. Service usually runs 90 minutes to two hours.
  • During the offering. Giving is how our members worship. As our guest, please don't feel any pressure. You're here to receive.
  • Welcoming guests. During service, we'll invite guests to stand so we can welcome you. You're free to remain seated if you'd rather. OR We won't single you out. We'll simply be glad you came.
  • After service. Come by our Guest Experience table. We have a small gift for you, and we'd love to put a face with your name.

Where is Fairfield?
6133 Redan Road, Lithonia, GA 30058, just outside Atlanta in DeKalb County. Taking MARTA? Bus Route 116 runs from Indian Creek Station.
Does Fairfield offer transportation?
Yes. If you live within 5 miles of Fairfield and need a ride on Sunday morning, our van ministry can pick you up. Call (770) 482-7660 by Thursdays at 3:00 PM to schedule.
What about health and safety?
Your well-being matters to us. Medical professionals serve on our team every Sunday, and masks are always welcome. If you're not feeling well, we'd love for you to worship with us online.
What should I wear?
There's no dress code. Some folks wear their Sunday best, others come in jeans. God's looking at your heart, and we're just glad to see your face.
How do I get connected?
The best way to find your people is to serve, join a ministry, or join a small group. 
What Bible translation do you use?
Pastor Vickers preaches mainly from the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV). In classes you'll also hear the King James Version, New Living Translation, and The Message. Bring whatever Bible you love.
Where should I park?
There's plenty of room in our lots and parking deck, and our Parking Ministry will guide you in. If walking long distances is hard, our team on golf carts will take you to the door.
What does Fairfield offer for children?
See "Bringing Kids?" above. Every child is checked in securely through KidCheck, and Sunday School meets at 8:00 AM for all ages.
How do I watch online?
Join us live Sundays at 9:30 AM on our website, the Fairfield app, Apple TV, Roku, Facebook, and YouTube. Missed it? Sermons are available all week on the same platforms.

Fairfield Student Life - NXTGEN caters to KiDS, TEENZ, & Campus Life. Providing a dedicated space for children from potty trained to college seniors, we aim to instill the importance of their value. Our commitment extends to encouraging the spiritual growth and well-being of our young people.

The Kingdom Men of Fairfield is crafted to foster the development, inspiration, cultivation, and encouragement of men of all ages.
